Microsoft’s Windows 7 has been one of the most popular versions of it’s operating system and has been in existence for over 10 years.
Microsoft will stop supporting windows 7 from the 14th of January 2020. This means that Windows 7 will have no longer have any new updates, security patches or bug fixes and technical support will no longer be provided. Computers with Windows 7 will continue to work but will become vulnerable to viruses and other security threats.
We recommend you either purchase a new computer with the latest version Windows 10 or upgrade your existing computer to Windows 10.
The most important factor that require computers to be updated is the of support provided on windows 7. This means that if technical issues occur, Microsoft will ignore any requests for help. This makes it difficult and frustrating to fix any issues that occur.
The second factor that requires an upgrade to windows 10 is the lack of security patches and bug fixes. This means that if a serious security issue or bug issue occurs, Microsoft will take no responsibility for it, as they have already stated that they are discontinuing support for windows 7.
The third and final reason to upgrade to windows 10 is that there will be no new updates for windows 7, meaning it may not be able to run various programs that you may want/need for everyday purposes or work needs.
These are the reasons why an upgrade to windows 10 is needed as it will ensure that you are more protected from scams, viruses and malware, and will ensure that you are able to gain support with issues from Microsoft.
All of our customers on Managed agreements have already been upgraded to windows 10. This was done in order to keep them, safe from security threats
Upgrade options
If your computer is more than 4 -5 years old we recommend purchasing a new system as these will be faster and more capable. In some cases it may be cost effective to update slightly newer computers to Windows 10. The advantage of updating from Windows 7 to 10 with an in place upgrade is that you get to keep all your existing programs and avoid the time and expense of copying all your data over to the new system.
